ST. LOUIS It s warming up in the St. Louis area, and the COVID-19 vaccine rollout has continued in the St. Louis area, which leads to a question on many people s minds: Do we still need to wear masks outside?
We took that question to three of St. Louis leading infectious disease physicians, and they all gave similar responses.
Dr. Aamina Akhtar is the Chief Medical Officer for Mercy Hospital South. Dr. Jason Newland is a Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Nongnooch Poowanawittayakom is the Chief of Infection Prevention Control at St. Louis University Hospital. ....

Missouri vaccine allocation model to change to direct more to St. Louis; state won't see more J&J vaccine for weeks – St. Louis Call Newspapers

The state of Missouri has been told it will not receive another shipment of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine until the last week of March two weeks after the next tier of eligible residents will be opened.
The unexpected news, which was announced on a weekly call with vaccine providers Tuesday, means the initial shipment of 50,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine received this week will be the only shipment Missouri receives until the week of March 29.
The state still anticipates at least about 120,000 doses of Moderna and Pfizer’s vaccine each week.
“What we thought at the beginning of this week is a little bit different now,” Ted Delicath, a principal with the McChrystal Group, a Virginia-based consulting firm hired to advise the state’s response to the pandemic, told vaccinators Tuesday. ....

ST. LOUIS The numbers of reported COVID-19 cases are going down in many cities across the United States. In fact, positive case counts are down in St. Louis too.
