Make-A-Wish Iowa held its annual Des Moines Gala on Saturday, where supporters gathered in person for the first time in more than a year to raise funds that will grant wishes for children and their families. Currently, 330 children in Iowa are waiting for their wish to be granted. Half of those wishes have been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. The former head of a charity for sick children has been arrested on three felony charges, accusing her of embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from the Make-A-Wish charity, which is a charity known to support sick children. This was confirmed by the group on Friday, according to Des Moines Register report.
