A self-styled godman was arrested in Nalgonda by Telangana police for allegedly cheating people. Vishwa Chaitanya Swamy, 50, was arrested on Tuesday following a raid on his ashram following a complaint. His three associates, Gajula Goutham, Vangaru Srujan Kumar and Orsu Vijay, were also arrested.
Over Rs 26 lakh in cash, gold ornaments weighing 500 grams, documents related to fixed deposits worth Rs 1.70 crore, 17 acres of land, seven laptops, four phones and one car were seized from his possession, said Nalgonda DIG A Venkata Ranganath.
