Halton Police stop uninsured driver twice in 20 minutes

According to Halton Police, Taraso first signaled the driver to stop at approximately 9:30 am yesterday. They entered a parking lot and stopped, where the driver was charged by way of a part-four summons for “Owner operate motor vehicle on a highway – no insurance.” The owner was advised to have the vehicle towed home, or to seek permission from the landowner to store it there until insured.
The officer parked his unmarked Dodge Ram nearby to complete his reports, at which time he “observed the driver on foot looking around the area, and then immediately returning to their vehicle and proceeding northbound on Winston Churchill.” The driver was stopped and charged again for driving without insurance, as well as for driving without the seatbelt on. The vehicle then had its license plates removed and was towed to prevent a repeat offence.  ....

Federal Conservative MPs call for suspension of mandatory hotel quarantines following sexual assault

Article content
Four Conservative MPs are calling on the Liberal government to suspend its mandatory hotel quarantine requirement for travellers arriving in Canada, after an alleged sexual assault took place in one of the hotels.
“The responsibility for the conduct of those overseeing the facilities and enforcing the rules lies with the Trudeau Liberals,” reads the statement from Michelle Rempel Garner, Shannon Stubbs, Jag Sahota and Richard Martel. “It is unthinkable that the federal government is mandating women into unsafe isolation scenarios that leave them vulnerable without the assurances they need to feel protected.”
