George Nkencho: Candlelit Vigil Set for the Spire

A candlelit vigil will be held in honour of George Nkencho today, who was shot dead by armed gardai on Wednesday.
Mourners will gather at the Spire at 3pm this afternoon to remember George Nkencho, who died outside his home in Clonee after being shot three times by gardai.
The 27-year-old was killed while allegedly brandishing a blade and threatening gardai.
Mr Nkencho is alleged to have assaulted a shopkeeper in the Eurospar in Hartstown, before supposedly threatening other members of staff.
Unarmed gardai arrived at the scene and followed him from the shop through several housing estates to his home in Manorfields Drive. ....
