Somalia Livestock Price Bulletin, March 2021 Format The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) monitors trends in staple food prices in countries vulnerable to food insecurity. For each FEWS NET country and region, the Price Bulletin provides a set of charts showing monthly prices in the current marketing year in selected urban centers and allowing users to compare current trends with both five-year average prices, indicative of seasonal trends, and prices in the previous year. The livestock sector is central to the economic and cultural life of the Somali people. The sector provides food and income to over 60 percent of the country’s population. Burao and Galkayo are the largest livestock markets in the Horn of Africa especially for export sheep and goats from the Somali region of Ethiopia and parts of southern Somalia. Obaseki’s ex-CSO demands N3.6bn from APC chieftains for defamation Adeyinka Adedeipe, Benin A former Chief Security Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Mr. Haruna Abiona, has demanded N3.6bn from the Edo State Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Col. David Imuse, (retd.), and three others for defamation of character. Haruna, in a letter endorsed by his counsel, Ainabeholo Oseikhuemen, asked the APC chieftains, including Tony Kabaka Adun, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, State Deputy Chairman, Edo North and Adams Shaba, President, Professional Drivers on Wheels, to tender an apology and retract defamatory statements and publications against him within 14 days. ....
