The Fighting Illini finally hit the court in the Big Ten tourney this evening as they square off with Rutgers. The Illini will attempt to keep the positive momentum going after ending the regular season with a win at Ohio State and getting All American guard Ayo Donsunmu back in the lineup. Dosunmu will be needed against Rutgers especially on the defensive end where he will most likely match up with Rutgers leading scorer Ron Harper Jr. Harper Jr. averages 15.2 ppg and is one of three Scarlet Knights players who average double figures.
What was the role of women in your life growing up?
I grew up in a very traditional home. My Dad went to work, and my Mom stayed home with me and my fours siblings. My Mom went to work when I was in fifth grade and it really shook my world. But It also showed me how strong she was and that she could do anything.
What does Women’s History Month mean to you?
Women’s History Month is a celebration of women and their accomplishments. It’s also a reminder of how much work we still must do.

Congressman Darin LaHood gives praise for the mass vaccination site at the fairgrounds, but not so much to the Governor’s mandates.
At a stop in Springfield, LaHood called the vaccination site in the Orr Building the “gold standard” of regional centers calling the access, location, and collaboration “tremendous.” The Governor did not get high marks however, with LaHood calling Governor Pritzker’s mitigation efforts “draconian.”
He also defended his “no” vote on the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill, claiming the income threshold for stimulus checks was too high and that too much of the bill went to bailing out blue states and other things such as planned parenthood and pensions.
