CINCINNATI – The Scripps National Spelling Bee is preparing for its return to National Harbor, Maryland, at the end of May for its first fully in-person competition since 2019, and it’s carrying forward two competition elements from 2021: word meaning rounds and the spell-off option.
May 25, 2021 By Kari Wethington CINCINNATI – As the Scripps National Spelling Bee prepares to make its return to TV screens across the country beginning June 12, more than 200 spellers are preparing to showcase their skills in the competition’s first-ever hybrid virtual and in-person competition.
