LEGAZPI CITY - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Camarines Norte in partnership with the local government unit of Daet town, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), has disbursed PHP634,800 in cash aid to 184 worker-beneficiaries under its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. Johana Vi Gasga, DOLE-Bicol spokesperson, said in a statement on Wednesday the hired workers were engaged in cleaning roads and public facilities for 10 days. "During the payout (Aug. 17) the worker-beneficiaries entitled them to receive PHP345 for daily work performed or equivalent to PHP3,450 based on the new prevailing minimum wage in the Bicol Region and covered with an accident insurance for one year," Gasga said. Also part of the package of assistance was personal protective equipment.
