MANILA - The country's daily new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) continued to decrease, with Saturday's tally of 17,382 infections down from the 18,638 recorded the previous day. To date, 213,587 are undergoing treatment, accounting or 6.1 percent of the total confirmed 3,528,796 cases since the outbreak began. Active cases rose to 287,856 while total recoveries jumped to 2,864,633, or 89.4 percent of the 3,205,396 infections recorded since the pandemic started in March 2020. New Covid-19 infections drop to 890; active cases dip to 17.8K

(File photo) MANILA - The number of daily new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases once again dipped to below 1,000, with only 890 new infections reported on Wednesday. In its latest bulletin, the Department of Health said this is slightly higher than the lowest single-day new case tally of 849 recorded on November 16. This brought the active case tally to 17,864 lower than Tuesday's 18,721. Another 1,710 new recoveries, meanwhile, pushed its total tally to 2,763,114. Recoveries account for 97.7 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,828,660 since the start of the pandemic last year. MANILA - The country's total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,680,081 after 3,924 new recoveries were reported on Thursday. In its 7 p.m. case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 96.7 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,772,491 since the start of the pandemic last year.
