No. 1 - Publix Set to Begin Vaccinating K-12 Teachers, School Staff
Publix will open COVID-19 vaccination appointments to K-12 teachers and school staff Friday, in accordance with
new federal and state guidelinesthat allow teachers of all ages to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
In addition to teachers, Publix will also start inoculating adults under the age of 65 who are deemed extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 as determined by a physician. Health care workers with direct patient contact, residents and staff members of long-term care facilities, and firefighters and law enforcement officers ages 50 and older are also eligible for vaccines. ....

Gov. Ron DeSantis expanded the eligibility list for COVID-19 vaccines last week to include teachers over age 50. Wednesday was the first day those who signed up could actually get their first doses of vaccine.

Vaccine Doses Increasing for Seniors on Florida s West Coast: DeSantis 
DeSantis held a news conference in Venice Wednesday where he announced more doses would be allocated to counties on Florida s Gulf coast, including Manatee, Charlotte and Sarasota.
Leon County leads the state with about 61% of seniors receiving shots, DeSantis said. Palm Beach County was near 50%, DeSantis said. Statewide, about 35% of Florida s 4.5 million seniors have received a shot.
