ALTON – Madison County Board member and long-time Alton alderman Jim Dodd is being remembered as someone who served his constituents and spoke his mind.
Dodd, 77, died Wednesday at Alton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He had been in poor health for several years, and had not attended any county board meetings since spring 2017.
Dodd was first elected to the Madison County Board in 2012. Prior to that he had served as an Alton alderman for the 6th Ward from April 1981 to March 1997. He was also the owner and operator of Jim’s Mobil. ....
