it is just shy of that now. we won t get ahead of the news on this. we are expecting an official storm update at any moment. i m harris faulkner and you are in the faulkner focus. hurricane ian is now carrying sustained kinds of 155 miles per hour. if they gain to 157 it s a category 5. the biggest threats facing floridians are massive storm surge, raging winds, inland flooding, tornadoes, experts already using words like catastrophic to describe hurricane ian s potential. 21/2 million people are under evacuation orders. for those people in the storm s path directly, that swath that i just told you to the south, cape coral and to the north sarasota. it s too late to evacuate if you re still there according to the governor.

you are right, 13.3% tax rate. we have the highest consumer tax. we have the highest gas tax. over 50% of our gas is taxes just for state, not even talking federal. we have been taxed to death. that has to stop. the other thing that is killing it is regulations. we have 21.2 million words of regulations on the businesses and citizens of california. that has to stop. start a business when you have that. what do you think would be the right number in terms of the income tax in california? i have to look at this reals particularly. first of all as governor i cannot change lower taxes. i cannot lower taxes myself. that is a process you have to go through. certainly i would be in favor of that but i don t see us ever getting to the point where you have a zero corporate tax rate like florida or some of the
other states. that s not realistic. we have great reasons to live in california. people love to live there. they don t mind paying something in taxes but it has to be a fair tax. i would want a tax system competitive with other states. and i think that s the best way to go so we don t lose all of these companies and don t lose them. they feel like it s a fair tax. nobody feels like it is fair and it s not a good business environment. i was talking with one of the ceos of one of the major companies that left and asked why they left. they left because it is not busy friendly there. bottom line. bill: everything i just ticked off here. say you become governor. day one what s the first thing you do? put to stop to any talk about taxes number one. i can do that. and second, put an absolute stop to regulations. i mentioned earlier 21.2 million words of regulations.
iran is in big trouble, the economy is crashing. trying to bring soldiers home because they can t pay. a lot of bad things are happening to them and it is easy to straighten out, very easy to make it worse. congress, is that a warning shot? the president is clear the maximum pressure campaign is working. the iranian regime is desperate and lashing out. if we look at the statistics, oil exports have dropped from 21/2 million barrels per day to 400,000, their currency is tanking, their economy is inflating. it is working and they are lashing out as they have done in the past and this is part and parcel to the other attacks on tankers and other things they
