world. it is tuesday, october 18th. i m christine romans. just three weeks to go until the mid-term elections. today president biden will zero in on abortion rights when he speaks at a speech in washington. the latest cnn poll finds it s the economy, inflation, voting rights, guns all ranked ahead of abortion in the minds of voters. cnn s jasmine wright is live for us bright and early in washington. jasmine, what do you expect the president s message on abortion to be? reporter: the president is going to talk about how he believes there is an assault on women s bodies and their right to choose. they can go with the republican party who wants to ban abortion, he s going to say, or go with democrats who don t, who want to codify abortion. the president has been trying to drum up the democratic base hoping they ll come out and support their base. control is on the ballot come november. now of course two things stand in contrast here. first, we talked about a majority of ....

Against the loss in the value of the state and local tax deduction, which i agree with you, i think it is good policy to stop forcing low tax jurisdictions to subsidize high tax jurisdictions, but what s the net effect? sure, you lose some value if you lose the deductibility, but keep in mind, we take the the top bracket does not kick in as low an income level under our bill as it does under current law, and specifically the point at which that highest rate, which in the senate bill is 38 1/2 38 1/2% kicks in is not until a couple filing jointly 1 million dollars income. being taxed at the lower rate of 35 rather than 38 1/2 that had to be taken into consideration. if your income is over a million, then yes, i think you could make the case that you ve lost some of the deduction the deduction you have lost is greater than the rate reduction ....
