DOH records 36 6K Covid-19 recoveries, 23K new infections

In its latest Covid-19 bulletin, the agency said this raised the active case count to 56,561. Thursday's new infections are equivalent to a nearly 60 percent increase from Wednesday's 10,775 fresh cases. Out of the active cases, 49,988 are mild, 2,954 are moderate, 1,837 are asymptomatic, 312 are critical, and 1,470 are severe. In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted the figure brought the total number of active infections to 10,418. Of the active cases, 4,384 are mild, 536 are asymptomatic, 374 are critical, 1,778 are severe, and 3,346 are moderate. "Of the 889 reported cases today, 869 or 98 percent occurred within the recent 14 days - December 16 to 29, 2021," the DOH said. (File photo) MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday logged 203 new Covid-19 cases, the country's lowest single-day infection since May 2020 due to the failure of 41 laboratories to submit data. The DOH said the figure pushed the total case tally to 2,837,577. "The low case report is due to the suspension of the operations four laboratories on Dec. 17, 2021 and failure to submit data from 41 laboratories to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) because of Typhoon Odette," the DOH said. Based on data in the last 14 days, the 45 laboratories contribute, on average, 15.4 percent of samples tested and 1.8 percent of positive individuals.
