SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Recognizing possible cases of human trafficking and connecting with the Hispanic community. That’s what the Chatham County chief of police says are the department’s two top priorities this year.
Having protocols to respond to human trafficking are a prime concern for Chatham County Police.
Chief Jeff Hadley says he isn’t aware of any calls about it this year but says they can potentially come across it during traffic stops and drug investigations. ....

Mental health aid is among 2021 priorities for cities
League of Oregon Cities official: Without help, police end up being the first care providers.
More state aid for mental health services is on the to-do legislative list for the League of Oregon Cities this session.
Cities generally do not provide those services community organizations, counties and the state do but the league s immediate past president says cities are the first to feel the effects when there are few or no services.
Our police forces are the ones with the first response, Jake Boone, a Cottage Grove city councilor, said.
