Prices for the base Excite variant have gone up by Rs 11,000, whereas the Exclusive variant is dearer by Rs 60,000.
It gets an updated 44.5kWh HT (Hi-Tech) battery pack that gives juice to the 143PS/353Nm electric motor. This translates to a claimed range of 419km, 79km more than before (340km). A DC fast-charger charges the electric SUV from 0-80 percent in 50 minutes. A normal 7.4kWhm wall box charger charges it completely in 6 to 8 hours.
While it remains cosmetically unchanged, it now gets a larger tyre-aspect ratio at 215/55 R17 compared to 215/50 R17 from its predecessor. Ground clearance has also been raised to 177mm compared to 161mm in the earlier model. Another notable addition is the introduction of an EcoTree challenge in the i-Smart 2.0 connected car technology. Basically, you can track real-time progress of your CO2 savings with the car. You can also compare it to the top 10 ZS EV owners in the country via a leaderboard.
Long-range ZS EV will likely utilise a bigger 73kWh battery pack, which should also translate to longer charging times.
It could be introduced with a facelift.

Currently, the MG ZS electric SUV is powered by a 143PS/353Nm electric motor, juiced up by a 44.5kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 340km. But in December 2019, the carmaker hinted at a longer range variant of the ZS EV, slated for a debut by 2022. Well that looks to be well under schedule, as Rajeev Chaba, Managing Director of MG Motor India, has confirmed the introduction of the longer range ZS EV for 2022.
