ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) received Tuesday another shipment of vaccines as the vaccination program continued here in the region. Dr. Augusto Manolo Alpichi, DOH assistant regional director, said the shipment, which is the 38th batch, consisted of 50,310 doses of Pfizer vaccines. "More people can be vaccinated with the arrival of these vaccines," Alpichi said. Alpichi said they have received a total of 1,565,830 doses of vaccines since the inoculation program started in March, this year. He said the majority of the vaccines received were Sinovac with 955,390 doses. It is followed by Pfizer with 242,190 doses. He said the rest are as follows: AstraZeneca, 215,750 doses; Janssen, 109,200; Moderna, 30,100; and, Gamaleya, 13,200. Meanwhile, Alpichi sad at least 539,811 individuals have been fully vaccinated in the region. The figure represents 28.23 percent of the 1,911,541 eligible population to be inoculated.
