The Department of Health (DOH), in its latest Covid-19 tracker, said Friday's cases are slightly higher than Thursday's 18,191 new cases. The new infections raised the active cases to 231,658, made up of 219,811 patients who have mild symptoms; 7,055 who are asymptomatic; 2,971 with moderate symptoms; 1,509 with severe symptoms; and 312 in critical condition. On the other hand, the DOH reported 13,106 new recoveries, a drop from Thursday's 22,014, bringing the country's total recoveries to 3,226,032 or 91.9 percent of all confirmed infections, which have reached a total of 3,511,491 since the start of the pandemic in 2020. It logged 68 new deaths, a drop from Thursday's 74, bringing the country's death toll from Covid-19 at 53,801 or 1.53 percent of all cases ....

The latest Covid-19 bulletin indicated 230,410 active cases while total recoveries rose to 3,191,219, or 91.8 percent of 3,475,293 infections since the pandemic started in March 2020. Out of the active cases, 218,711 are mild, 2,982 are moderate, 6,902 are asymptomatic, 1,507 are severe, and 308 are critical. "Of the 15,789 reported cases today, 15,061 (95 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days Jan. 13 to Jan. 26, 2022," the DOH reported. The regions with the most cases in the recent two weeks were Region 4-A (Calabarzon), 2,248 or 15 percent; the National Capital Region (NCR) with 2,135 or 14 percent of new infections; and Central Visayas, 1,520 or 10 percent. Monday's figure of new cases surpassed Sunday's 28,707. Another 3,725 recoveries were also recorded, accounting for 93 percent of the total number of confirmed infections. The latest Covid-19 bulletin indicated 128,114 active cases while total recoveries rose to 2,785,183, or 93.9 percent of 2,965,447 infections since the pandemic started in March 2020. Out of the active cases, 119,276 are mild, 2,851 are moderate, 4,213 are asymptomatic, 1,465 are severe, and 309 are critical.
