The Army's 11th Infantry Division (11ID) said in a statement that the incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Tugas, Patikul, Sulu. Killed was Private Joefrazen Tawasil, 25, a member of the Army's 45th Infantry Battalion (IB). Tawasil was one of the Tausug natives who belonged to the Magkagilas Class 656-2021. Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, 1ID commander, placed their main Camp Cesar Sang-an headquarters in Barangay Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, on lockdown effective Monday. Capt. Mary Jephte Manebog, 1ID information officer, disclosed Tuesday that 134 personnel have been infected with Covid-19 as of Monday night. "We are on the red alert status. The 1ID headquarters is on lockdown," Manebog said in an interview.
