Why wouldn t democrats push forward on raising the debt ceiling while they still have the majority in the house? i think we have to. i think if we don t, it s like handing the republicans a legislative nuclear weapon. they ve already made it clear what they re going to do. they re gonna use it to extort cuts in programs. even like redoing some of the terms of social security and medicare. they ve been very explicit about what they re going to do with. weekend with them do that. the debt ceiling has been in place one form or another since 1917. it s an array 78 times since 1916. obviously hasn t done anything to curtail the national debt. we re the only country in the world that does it this way. so to throw this into the political climate particularly in today s political climate. it s absurd. country can t do business this way. my guess is that we re working, we re pushing pretty hard on ....
