The department of agriculture, rural development & land reform has left an Eastern Cape farmer high and dry after it cancelled plans to purchase a generator worth more than R700,000 to help him operate an abattoir during load-shedding. The Daily Dispatch reported last week that Sidumo Xashimba, the owner of Xashimba Abattoir in Komani, had to close down his abattoir built by the Eastern Cape government due to power cuts that had cost him dearly.

SMEs and SMIs no longer need to pay fees to get connected to medium tension power networks Public services Friday, 05 March 2021 16:20 (Togo First) - In Togo, SMEs and SMIs consuming between 120 and 150kVA of power will not pay to get connected to the public grid. This falls under the government’s efforts to improve the country’s business climate. In a statement it recently released, the Togolese power utility declared that “the  cost for connection to the medium tension network of the public grid has been made free for SMEs and SMIs with a consumption level ranging between 120 and 150kVA.”
