We re going to be paying for brazilian oil when we could be getting it domestically here. the real anger, the angst among the people of louisiana is towards the administration and their unwillingness to allow us to drill and to produce. you have to understand that our oil production in the deep water has dropped from 1.7 million barrels a day to 1.59 and it continues to go down by about 200,000 barrels per year. but no one is upset about the 200 million barrels that spilled into the gulf less than a year ago and aren t concerned about the fact that that could really rip apart what the fishing industry and the rest of the coastline industry is trying to jump back from? thus far we have not seen any long-term effects on the fishing industry. obviously, we re not happy about the spill. it s our environment and we don t like oil spills. we don t want to see that happen again, but on the other hand the oil production and the killing of tens of thousands of jobs that louisiana citizens h ....
