Focus crimes in NCR down by 17% since Nov. 2020

Citing the latest data as of Wednesday, NCRPO chief, Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said 109,079 focus crimes were recorded from Nov. 10, 2020 to Jan. 23, 2022 covering 440 days, an almost 17-percent drop from 131,230 incidents recorded in 441 days from Sept. 5, 2019 to Nov. 9, 2020. Classified as focus crimes are murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, vehicle theft, and motorcycle theft. Physical injury cases logged the biggest decline at 42 percent from 1,934 to 934 incidents; motorcycle theft, 25 percent from 836 to 625; murder, 24 percent from 802 to 611 incidents; robbery, 22 percent from 2,053 to 1,603 incidents; homicide, 21 percent from 221 to 175 incidents; theft, 16 percent from 4,494 to 3,756 incidents; vehicle theft, 16 percent from 172 to 144 incidents; and rape, 6 percent f ....
