believe you are abraham lincoln. that does not mean the american people are not going to blame republicans. we all know who shut down the government the last time. stuart: that is not about come on, wait, wait, the republicans were elected in november, they took the house of representatives and they said, we re going to cut government spending. that is what they have done $61 billion. and now the democrats in the senate say, no, no, no, we cannot accept this. we will veto it. the president says he will veto it. that is the democrats stopping it. the democrats shut down government. guest: they are taking the deficit from $1.5 trillion to $1.45 trillion. what they did, they took all the programs that domes like and cut them out of the budget but they kept the programs that republics like. so, what we have do do is compromise and the republicans is said time and time again that they will not come to the table and, now, who will they blame?
states with pretty high taxes, like new york and new jersey, who don t want introductions of state income taxes. right now those taxes will not be able to be deducted from these taxes. some of state taxes, $10,000. but the math is pretty tricky, and overarching that is the math to try to get this $1.45 trillion of cost. that s what they ve been scrambling around through the night. one thing i m going to be looking for, andrea, is the documents. they re called distribution tables. it s a very kind of bland description for the pieces of paper that are going to show who is going to benefit from this tax cut, what percentage is going to go to wealthier americans and businesses and what percentage is going to go to people making less money. when those tables actually come out, those will give you a much better sense of how this is actually going to play out
