In a statement Wednesday, Councilor Jessica Bonguyan, the SP committee chair on games and amusement, said the ordinance is the first of its kind for the city's PWD community. Bonguyan said he expects implementation within six months after the measure is signed by Mayor Sebastian Duterte. "Transitory provisions allow the executive department to release the implementing rules and regulations for the execution of the ordinance within six months," she said.
DAVAO CITY - Business shops using portions of public roads in this city are ordered by the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) to register for regulation and inspection. CTTMO said Friday it will start requiring shops such as auto repair and carwash businesses to register, as mandated under the Davao City Transport and Traffic Code of 2012 or the Davao City Ordinance No. 0334-12. "The registration applications will open on May 30, 2022, and our inspection will start in September this year as well," CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude said. Before the announcement, Abude said CTTMO personnel have already notified affected business owners of the upcoming regulation, including owners of driveways and other establishments using roads for public pay parking. In an advisory on Thursday, unvaccinated residents shall remain in their residences at all times, except when buying essential goods and transacting with essential services. The firecracker ban, embodied in Ordinance 431, prohibits the use, sale, possession, distribution, storage, and manufacture of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices by any or business establishments in the territorial jurisdiction of Zamboanga City. The ordinance was enacted in 2014 as a health and safety measure against firecracker and pyrotechnic device-related injuries documented by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) during the holiday season. The ordinance was also enacted to "prevent fears, anxieties, and a contributory factor to the general feeling of threat and insecurity" due to the 21-day siege in 2013.
