In a report on Saturday, the CIDG said personnel of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) have reported that a certain Maximino Lanugon Jr. was posting on his Facebook account the sale of Malayan Hornbills and Indian Peafowls at PHP25,000 each. In an entrapment operation carried out along the national highway in Barangay Mabini, Placer, Surigao del Norte, the authorities arrested Lanugon and his accomplice, identified as Sulpicio Bangonon, after they sold the wild birds to a police officer posing as a buyer.
