CINNAMINSON Helen Love is trying to learn more about self defense at home, including how to handle a gun.
On Monday, she joined more than two-dozen other South Jersey residents for a training session at the community center here. I got a lot out of it, and I m hoping there will be more events on gun safety. I truly thank God that I came, said Love, a Camden resident.
The crowd learned from police officers about professional safety practices, weapon structure, and New Jersey firearm laws.
After the training, Love said the training proved useful for her and others.
The annual training event, in its fourth year, was coordinated by the Cinnaminson Police Department with support provided by Riverton and Palmyra police departments.

When am I going to vaccinated? That’s the No. 1 question at the moment for seniors such as Sally Biggs, a 77-year-old Leland woman.
She has been unable to get even her first shot in the arm by mid-February, despite her age placing her near the top of Michigan’s COVID-19 Vaccination Prioritization plan.
With both pulmonary and cardiovascular conditions, she makes daily calls to all the nearby vaccine sites to no avail. Her confidence in the vaccine process, as well as many of her senior peers, is waning.
