TRAFFIC UPDATE: Northbound lanes of Gulf Freeway reopen at Almeda Genoa following Hazmat situation

HOUSTON – Backups will now ease for drivers on I-45 Gulf Freeway heading northbound at Almeda Genoa Road.
According to Houston Transtar and the Texas Department of Transportation - Houston District all mainlanes of the freeway are now back open after they were blocked due to a heavy truck/ hazmat crash.

On Houston Transtar cameras, drivers could be seen forced to exit as emergency vehicles block the northbound lanes. Drivers were encouraged to seek an alternate route until the scene cleared.
