GUJRAT: The Punjab government has approved a Rs10 billion uplift package for the district as the schemes have been included in the 2021-22 Annual Development Programme (ADP) and will be launched within the current year.
Official sources said a major portion of the package comprised the schemes proposed by the PML-Q leader MNA Chaudhary Moonis Elahi. However, they said the schemes proposed by other lawmakers of both the ruling coalition partners – the PTI and PML-Q – for other parts of the district, were also part of the hefty package.

GUJRAT (Dunya News) - Acting Punjab Governor Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that Jahangir Tareen group is not going anywhere.
These views were expressed by Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while talking on the occasion of inauguration of new road at Chak Sada Road, Gujrat.
Members of National Assembly Monis Elahi, Hussain Elahi, MPA Shujaat Nawaz Ajnala and Khalid Asghar Ghural were also present.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the peace of mind gained by serving the people cannot be explained in words. Whenever we had the opportunity, we worked for the welfare of the people, the previous governments deprived Gujrat of development funds for ten years.

A government-sponsored delegation Sunday met Awami National Party (ANP) leadership at Wali Bagh to seek their support for the upcoming election of chairman Senate. The delegation, comprising the Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, met ANP leaders Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Mian Iftikhar Hussain and Aimal Wali Khan.
The ANP s newly elected Senator Arbab Umar Farooq, Hidayatullah Khan and Engineer Zmarak Khan were also present on the occasion.
