Dr. Janet Samuels announced Tuesday that she is appointing Jennifer Wilburne to fill a Harrisburg School District board of directors seat that opened up when Jayne Buchwach recently relocated.

The appointment will run through December, according to a press release. Wilburne presently works as chief of staff and press secretary to Pa. First Lady Frances Wolf.
Samuels, the court-appointed receiver, said that as the district continues to make positive strides financially and grow learning opportunities for students, “we look forward to continuing our efforts to collaborate and partner with families and the community. We want to provide a positive trajectory for students and appoint an individual with sound experience to serve the community,” she added.
