The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications from citizens of Serbia for participation in the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for the 2022-23 academic year. This is a competitive, worldwide competition. If you are interested in broadening your perspectives, becoming a global leader, and giving back to Serbian society upon your return, the Humphrey Fellowship is for you.
The Humphrey Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by the Institute of International Education. Over 6,000 Fellows representing 162 countries have participated in the program since its inception in 1978. That has included 20 Serbians in the past decade.
Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows from Cornell volunteered for conservation efforts at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in April as part of Earth Day activities.
The U.S. Embassy in Croatia is pleased to announce
the competition for the
2022-2023 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. This annual program for accomplished mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership potential offers one year in the United States for non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and substantive professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts. By providing future leaders and policymakers with experience in American society, culture, and professional fields, the program provides a basis for lasting, productive ties between Americans and their professional counterparts overseas.
The primary sponsor of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is the U.S. Department of State. The program is administered under a cooperative agreement with the Institute of International Education (IIE). These two agencies work in partnership with a network of universities competitively selected to host Humphrey Fellows.

Around 30 SUNY Oswego students recently had a unique opportunity to interact with five young professionals from countries not usually on the college visitors list.
This March 31 opportunity came about thanks to the annual Speed Meeting event that SUNY Oswego’s Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) organizes in collaboration with the Humphrey Fellowship Program at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
A Speed Meeting (similar to speed dating, but for professional purposes) is an opportunity to sit down and have quick chats with lots of people in a short period of time. While the event traditionally takes place in a face-to-face format, this year students, faculty and staff were able to interact via Zoom with five Humphrey Fellows from all over the world: Doreen Bangapi Mwanyama from Tanzania, Jordan Dean from Papua New Guinea, Jovana Bulatovic from Montenegro, Julio Herrera Toledo from Guatemala
