NEW ORLEANS A man was convicted Thursday of several sex crimes with a child who was younger than 13 years old, St. Bernard Parish officials said in a statement. He faces up to 124 years in prison, for his crimes.

District Attorney Perry Nicosia said Hugh Gilliam, 37, faces up to 124 years in prison.A jury convicted Gilliam Wednesday after three hours of deliberation. Nicosia said the victim was a complete stranger to Gilliam.Gilliam will be sentenced on June 22, according to Nicosia.
