Public Health Sudbury and Districts is reporting two new COVID-19 outbreaks and 28 new cases of the virus, most in Greater Sudbury.
Public Health declared Friday afternoon outbreaks at St. Gabriel Villa in Chelmsford and one hallway of the sixth floor at Health Sciences North.

“Public Health is actively working with the long-term care home and the hospital to investigate each outbreak and ensure patients, residents and staff are protected. Currently, the outbreaks are contained and there is no evidence of ongoing transmission,” the health unit said.

Public Health Sudbury and Districts has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Health Sciences North’s Ramsey Lake Health Centre affecting the fourth floor of the South Tower.
The outbreak is separate from the one declared on the sixth floor of the South Tower on Friday.

Public Health and HSN are working together to investigate the outbreak and ensure patients and staff are protected. Both outbreaks are contained, according to PHSD, and there is no evidence of ongoing transmission.
