A Lafayette woman was arrested Wedesday at a local hotel following a domestic incident involving one of her children.
The Scott Police Department says they was called out to a residence in the 1400 block of Westgate Road on Wednesday, June 23 for a disturbance.
Officers say the caller stated that a subject identified as 28-year-old Briana Roy of Lafayette had come to the residence and allegedly pushed her way through the doorway causing injury to the caller. During the
incident, Roy had allegedly demanded money from the caller and when she was denied, picked up a gaming console and smashed the front glass door.

Scott Police have made two arrests in connection with the negligent homicide of a Scott man.
Police say the family of 40-year-old Michael Hebert reported to SPD that the circumstances surrounding his death seemed suspicious. During the investigation, officers learned that Hebert was living with his girlfriend, 50-year-old Stacy Barton of Scott, when he began to feel ill 5-6 days before he died.
Barton contacted her mother, 75-year-old Elizabeth Hornbuckle, and 54-year-old Kelly Keeling, both of Lafayette, to come to their residence to assist her, police say. Over the next few days, Hebert s health deteriorated until he became comatose and unresponsive. A neighbor went to the residence, saw Hebert s condition, and called 911.
Suspect steals vehicle from tow yard, leads police on chase in Lafayette Parish

A 19-year-old led police on a high-speed pursuit Monday after stealing a vehicle from a tow yard in Lafayette Parish.
The Scott Police Department says a traffic officer saw a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the 700 block of Mills Street on June 14.
The vehicle was also reportedly passing vehicles in a No Passing zone.
The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver allegedly refused and led the officer on a chase. Scott Police were eventually joined by Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office deputies in the chase.

Scott Police Department officers were dispatched to a hit and run crash where a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the 1600 block of Roper Dr.
When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian unresponsive. CPR was started until medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital and eventually succumbed to his injuries.
During the officers’ investigation, they were able to identify the victim as Mykel Francis, 31, of Lafayette Parish. Additionally, during the investigation, witnesses were able to identify a vehicle leaving the area.
