Members discussed the recently given firefighter’s test, which was passed by six people with five of them then going on to get certified after completing the fire physical course. No information was given in regards to interviews had been completed or an offer extended yet. The commission also acknowledged receipt of the Memorandum of Understanding between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 29, concerning base pay rates for patrol officers. Council had approved the MOU earlier in April, which started new hires at $18.47 per hour by eliminating a Fifth Class Patrol Officer step in the contract.
