Personnel of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police in Karachi conducted the operation in the wee hours of Monday in the Shah Latif Town area during which the terrorists hurled a hand grenade on the armored vehicle of the CTD, Omer Shahid Hamid, deputy inspector general of CTD Sindh, told local media. As a result, an exchange of fire took place between terrorists and police, killing one militant on the spot, the official said, adding that another five were also taken into custody during the raid.

Sources also told Geo News that authorities obtained forensic data from the mobile phone of one of the terrorists who was arrested by the CTD.

Alam Sher, the younger brother of the slain Naseemullah Mehsud, alias Naqeebullah, levelled this allegation against the Sindh government on Sunday as he addressed a news conference at the Karachi Press Club in connection with the death anniversary of his brother who was killed in a fake shoot-out on January 13, 2018. He was accompanied by his attorney Jibran Nasir and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Saifur Rehman.
