KITCHENER Over the past week the Guelph Police Service say that DNA has helped them implicate three men in crimes that were previously unsolved. On Thursday, police announced they had made an arrest in a stolen vehicle investigation from last September. A woman had reported her vehicle stolen from an address in the city’s south end, which was recovered two days later outside of the city. Police say while examining the vehicle officers recovered several items that were sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences (CFS) for examination. On Wednesday, the police were notified by CFS officials that analysis of one of the items matched someone in the National DNA Data Bank. Later that afternoon a man was located on Wellington Street West and arrested.

Natural England is calling for the public to have their say on proposals to improve public access along a 120-mile stretch of coast around the Humber estuary-

The proposals recommend significant improvements to coastal footpaths enabling a continuous walking route around the estuary from Maplethorpe to the Humber Bridge on the south side, and Humber Bridge to Easington on the north bank.

From the south the trail follows major coastal dune systems, saltmarshes and sea defences. It passes Donna Nook – one of the largest seal breeding colonies in the UK - before entering the seaside resort of Cleethorpes, quickly followed by Grimsby with its historical fishing heritage.
KITCHENER Guelph police say a man promised to steal again if he was released after he was arrested for shoplifting. Officers were called to a business on Wellington Street West around 2:50 p.m. Monday. In a news release, police say the man took alcohol and walked out without paying. He was arrested shortly after. While sitting in the police cruiser, officials say the man demanded to be released and said he d steal once again. The 33-year-old was charged with possession of stolen property and theft. He was held for a bail hearing.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting public assistance to locate missing 15-year-old Jeremy Rowlinson.
He was last seen on April 23, around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Great Northern Road and Third Line East.

He is described as six feet tall, approximately 140 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black t-shirt, black pants, black toque and black shoes.
He is known to frequent the area of John Street and Wellington Street West as well as the downtown area.
