Valley News - Dartmouth plans shots for students

HANOVER Dartmouth College officials are working with state and regional health officials to determine how best to offer COVID-19 vaccines to students when those from out of state become eligible next week, according to the college’s COVID-19 task.

The Sullivan County COVID-19 vaccination site at River Valley Community College in Claremont is closing next week, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. Beginning on Thursday, the new site will be the former Dollar Store in the Shaw’s Plaza at 62 John Stark Highway in Newport. “We continue efforts to move vaccination sites indoors wherever possible, to increase our throughput, allow for easier social distancing and to avoid bad weather,” Jake Leon, a DHHS spokesman, said in an email. Appointments scheduled for Claremont on April 8 or later will instead take place at the new site in Newport at the same date and time, Leon said.

Championship Saturday: Gilford, Woodsville boys take basketball titles

Mar. 14—Sophomore Jalen Reese's palm secured the Gilford High School boys basketball team a 41-40 triumph over Hopkinton in the NHIAA Division III championship game Saturday at Laconia High School. Gilford (14-1) has won two state titles over its seven final appearances. The Golden Eagles shared the Division III crown with Mascenic of New Ipswich last year after the COVID-19 pandemic halted .
