Playing their third game in a week against young, athletic FC Dallas, Minnesota United was the team that pressed and pressured its way to a 1-0 victory Saturday night at Allianz Field.
The Loons took 27 shots, just six of them on target. But it was Robin Lod s rebound shot banged home from the goal s doorstep off a corner kick in the 94th minute that finally was the difference.
Minnesota United has followed an 0-4 season start with consecutive 1-0 home victories over both Vancouver and FC Dallas within 72 hours.

He has hardly done anything between games, which is not ideal, Loons coach Adrian Heath said, referring to a quick turnaround from Wednesday s 1-0 victory over Vancouver.
Reynoso played on anyway. He started Saturday despite those nagging injuries because Heath says Reynoso is starting to play like his old self.

Recently signed striker Ramon Abila, who scored his first MLS goal as the game-winner for Minnesota United on Wednesday, is the team s highest-paid player in total compensation.
Abila s base salary for the 2021 season is $800,000 while his guaranteed compensation that includes his base salary and all signing and guaranteed bonuses over the term of his contract is $1.1 million.
The figures, released Thursday by the MLS Players Association, reflect how the team went on a veritable spending spree in its fifth MLS season.
