(Shutterstock) PLAINFIELD, IL The shipment of coronavirus vaccines received by Will County is not sufficient, according to County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. The Will County Health Department said that it has been receiving a scant more than 2,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine incrementally which is making vaccinating its nearly 700,000 residents a great challenge. Currently, the health department is working to schedule approximately 100,000 residents over the age of 65 for their first and second doses of the life-saving vaccine and with consistently limited supply deliveries, many residents are scared and frustrated with the delay in receiving the vaccines.

Ray spent a tremendous amount of his time, energy and life here in New Lenox making a positive difference for the residents of not only our community but beyond, Mayor Tim Baldermann said during the meeting. Tuminello served on the plan commission for the village and as village trustee, before he was appointed to the Will County Board in 2014. He was running for his second term as county board member when he withdrew his name due to work conflicts.

McDermed was first elected in 2014, and served the 37th District, which includes Mokena, until her retirement this month. Before she was elected to the Illinois General Assembly, McDermed served as Frankfort Township Trustee and Township Clerk, as well as Commissioner of the Will County Board, the proclamation states. During her time at the township, she introduced early voting for registered voters and organized over 125 years of township records.
