Carabiner Architects appointed to design $2 million facilities at Spring Hill Primary School New early childhood facilities will create space for more than 60 students Construction is expected to start in February 2021 Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today announced that Carabiner Architects have been selected to design new early childhood facilities at Spring Hill Primary School in Wanneroo. The new facilities – worth $2 million – will replace three existing demountable kindergarten classrooms with a new permanent building for the school’s youngest students. The new building will include three kindergarten classrooms, two kitchens, student and staff toilets and store rooms. With the project now in the design phase, construction is expected to start in February 2021 and completion is anticipated in January 2022. ....

Updated: 10:31 AM CST Jan 5, 2021 The Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa State Patrol are continuing to investigate after 84-year-old James Bright was found dead at his rural Vinton home over the weekend. I don’t think there was anybody that ever didn’t like Jim, Jean Leaf, an old friend of Bright’s, said.KCRG reports Leaf said she met him in the 1980s when she co-owned a construction company. Bright hired her company to do work at his store called Bright’s Piano on Ellis Boulevard in Cedar Rapids. Bright also had a location in Vinton.“He used to talk to us and tell us about his going to braille school in Vinton when he was little, how he learned to do braille and therefore he eventually was into the piano,” Leaf said.
