EP Global Opportunities Trust plc (the Company )
The Company announces that on 27 May 2021 it purchased 50,000 of its own Ordinary 1p shares at a price of £2.85 per share. The shares have been placed into Treasury.
Following this transaction, the Company has 27,566,917 Ordinary shares held in Treasury and 36,942,725 Ordinary shares in circulation. Accordingly, the total voting rights in the Company are 36,942,725. The total number of shares in issue remains as 64,509,642.
The above total voting rights figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine whether they are required to notify their interest in EP Global Opportunities Trust plc under the FCA s Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
The Company will invest in a combination of large, medium and smaller companies listed in the UK. We are not constrained by the weightings of any index; we focus instead on controlling absolute risk by diversifying on the basis of underlying company characteristics such as size, industry, economic sensitivity, clients and management. In normal circumstances up to half the portfolio will be invested in FTSE 100 companies; the remainder will be divided between small- and medium-sized companies. On occasions the Manager will buy shares listed overseas. The Manager may also invest a maximum of 15% in other listed trusts. It is a pleasure to report that, after a period of disappointing performance, the portfolio bounced back in the first half of the year, with NAV increasing by 33.0% against the benchmark s 18.5%.
