But an Agritourism bill recently talked about in a commissioner meeting in Worcester County could impact farmers.
“Hopefully, it will have a positive impact on the farmers that choose to do those,” Joe Mitrecic, President of the Worcester County Commissioners, said.
The bill would make it easier to get activities approved on their property by the county.
This could include a wedding, corn maze, or even festival.
“A lot of the items they can do now with the special exception, they will be able to do with this agritourism bill without having to go to planning and zoning,” Mitrecic said.

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md.- Worcester County declared itself a constitution sanctuary rather than just a Second Amendment Sanctuary.
When speaking with the President of the Worcester County Commissioners, he told us the Sheriff wanted to do a proclamation, saying that the county was a 2A Sanctuary.
A Second Amendment Sanctuary is a state, county, or municipality that adopts laws or resolutions that help block the enforcement of certain gun control measures.
But I’m told some members of the county commissioners didn’t agree.
The President said he didn’t feel comfortable with making the area a 2A Sanctuary, unless he had the consensus of the entire commissioners.
OCEAN CITY, Md. Both the Worcester County Sheriff s Office and Ocean City Police Department want to purchase armored personnel carriers, but those plans might have to change after the Maryland General Assembly voted this week to ban the purchase of armored vehicles by police agencies.
On Monday, the Maryland House of Delegates passed the Maryland Police Accountability Act of 2021 Surplus Military Equipment and Investigation of Deaths by Police Officers, which would ban local police agencies from purchasing armored vehicles and other equipment from federal surplus programs.
The bill is one of several pieces of legislation this session aimed at reforming law enforcement. It now heads to Gov. Larry Hogan, who hasn t indicated whether he plans to sign the bill.
