Accountability! The fact is the Police in Ontario are accountable! The SIU is the independent civilian police watchdog, created specifically to investigate police action as enacted by Ontario years ago. When a “firearm” is discharged, the police are obligated to notify SIU, immediately. The SIU becomes the source of the investigation and information.  The police are not allowed to make comment, report, or give a news release when SIU is involved. The SIU will determine the facts.
