This is prompting the county’s health department to lift its residency requirement for those wishing to be vaccinated. “When receiving your vaccine, you will no longer have to show identification proving that you live or work in Lenawee County,” Craig Tanis, Lenawee County Emergency Management Coordinator said. The county also is offering multiple COVID-19 vaccination clinics. A Moderna vaccine clinic is set for Thursday, April 22, at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds in Adrian.

The Daily Telegram ADRIAN Lenawee County officials warned Friday afternoon that the current COVID-19 surge is as bad as previous surges and hospitalizations are growing. The current surge in new cases is similar to that seen during the winter months. According to a news release from the county government, if COVID-19 spread continues in our community at its current rate, it is projected that by the end of April, we will surpass the number of new COVID-19 cases seen during previous surges. The positivity rate for tests is at 16.4%, which is the highest rate seen since the beginning of the pandemic, the release said. Fifty percent of patients at ProMedica Hickman Hospital are positive for COVID-19 and the critical care unit 89% full.
