Leesville man accused of breaking into ex’s home
Authorities say the suspect was located in the victim s gated community waiting for his ex to return home

Lexington, SC (WOLO) The Lexington Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man accused of breaking into his ex’s home after the victim ended the relationship.
Authorities say the incident took place Tuesday April 27, when the victim called police to alert them to the fact that an ex was inside the gated community where they live. Deputies responded and went to an area of the community where the victim believed the suspect, 41 year old Benjamin Yon would most likely be parked. That is the same location authorities say they found Yon’s car.
Missing South Carolina Girl and Daughter of Anti-Violence Activist Found Dead; Suspects Arrested
A teenage girl from South Carolina was found dead in a wooded area on Thursday after being reported as missing since early April, authorities said.
The body of 15-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep who is the daughter of Brick City Peace Collective member Sharif Malik Amenhotep was located in Lexington County following a three-week search, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said during a press briefing.
“I can’t tell you how tragic and sad this case is, to lose a 15-year-old like we lost this one,” Lott said. “Unfortunately we didn’t bring her home the way we wish that we could.”

Lexington, SC (WOLO) May is right around the corner and so are the start of two weeks that recognize the hard work of the men and women who serve and protect the community everyday.
The Lexington Sheriff’s Department is gearing up for National Corrections Officers week, and National Police Week. The goal is make sure the deputies that go above and beyond the call of duty to keep operations in and outside of the Lexington jail running smoothly, while paying homage to those within the department who work to make the county a safe place to live, work and play.

PROSPERITY, S.C. (WIS) - Divers with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources have found military equipment in Saluda River.
Sometime Friday morning, a fisherman was near Blackâs Bridge when he found what he thought was military equipment of some sort in the water. Blackâs Bridge stretches over Saluda River connecting Saluda and Newberry counties between Saluda and Prosperity, on the west side of Lake Murray.
