Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested one Louis Joseph in connection with a fracas in an abattoir in Uyo, the state capital, on Thursday.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the fight led to the destruction of a Toyota Camry, a tricycle and a motorcycle.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said two injured persons were taken to hospital for treatment.
According to the statement, which was issued in Uyo, the problem started after a disagreement over sharing of money.
“Today’s fight at the abattoir was caused by a disagreement between boys loyal to one Louis Joseph and Abba Mohammed over sharing of money. ....

Fracas erupted in the usually peaceful capital of Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday, sending residents scampering for safety as shops and businesses closed.

No life was lost in disturbances that erupted in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital on Wednesday, police have said.
The leader of livestock dealers in Akwa Ibom State, Mijin Yawa also refuted reports that some persons were killed during the fracas that started at an abattoir in the state.
“Nobody died for this problem, not a single person,” Mr Yawa told PREMIUM TIMES on Friday.
The police confirmed that nobody was killed in the fracas which has created tension between the Hausa community and the indigenous people in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital. ....

Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel, yesterday summoned an emergency state executive meeting apparently to brainstorm on the worsening insecurity in uyo, the state capital and its environs.
Details of the meeting were sketchy.
For several days running, hoodlums have taken over parts of the capital city robbing residents from house to house , snatching cars in broad daylight, even as major supermarkets and petrol service stations have also been targeted.

Apparently disturbed by the worsening security situation and crises in Akwa-Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel has summoned emergency Executive Council (exco) meeting at the Government House on Thursday.
The meeting ongoing at the state Executive Council Chambers at the time of filing this report has governor Emmanuel presiding with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Ekeuwem, commissioners and special advisers in attendance.
The meeting, it was gathered, followed the total breakdown of law and other for the most part of Wednesday as Hausa\Fulani livestock association clashed with indigenous Akwa-Ibom group within the central abattoir at Itam, on the outskirt of Uyo, the state capital. ....
