(WYXL) — The Leon County Sheriff s Office says a man has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing on New Year s Eve on Old St. Augustine Road. Deputies with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident in the 9400 block of Old St. Augustine Road on December 31, 2020, around 8 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 56-year-old Matthew Williams who sustained several stab wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene. During the initial investigation, detectives with the LCSO Violent Crimes and Crime Scene units determined the victim’s residence had been burglarized and his vehicle was missing. Later that day, deputies located the victim’s vehicle being driven southbound on Wakulla Springs Highway.
