Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes is challenging a recent court order to cut in half the inmate population in Orange County Jails. He asked for support from cities and civic groups. In a special meeting called for the purpose, the Cypress City Council considered a proposal to join an amicus curiae brief organized by the City of Newport Beach in support of the Sheriff’s challenge.
